Avoiding Packing & the Friday Five

I have been very unfocused this week. I haven't wanted to do anything I
need to do. Last night I was sitting in my box strewn living room and
thinking about what I need to pack next. I went into the kitchen to take a
mental inventory of all my mismatched kitchenware and I saw my mini pumpkin The
Roommate gave me to decorate for Halloween. I looked at the under
utilized, over stocked spice drawer and saw the pumpkin. The pumpkin was
calling to me. So I gave in and decided to paint it.. This required
a trip to the craft store for paint and a brush. I painted it shiny
sterling silver. Then I drew squiggles with a black paint pen. That
took up most of my evening.

On the way home from the craft store I heard a very interesting
story about Ben Folds on NPR's All Things Considered
.

There is so much to do related to the move next week but all I can think about
is going to see movies this weekend. Bowling
For Columbine
opens here this weekend and I also want to see In
Praise of Love
. I'm not sure if I want to see The
Truth About Charlie
but I am intrigued a bit. I bought three books
this week and want to read them but instead I put them in a box to be moved.

The Roommate and I finally found some living room furniture we liked, of course
it won't be delivered for 3 - 5 weeks. Our new living room will be rather sparse
for a while.

The Friday Five

1. What is your favorite scary movie?

Any Ashley Judd movie. Just kidding. The Scream movies weren't
really scary but they were fun. I found the Blair Witch Project
disturbing.

2. What is your favorite Halloween treat?

Roasted pumpkin seeds, popcorn balls and Snickers pumpkins.

3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume.

No. Once in college a friend and I dressed as Hans and Franz from SNL.
I can't remember which one I was.

4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?

No. I went to one in high school and people kept grabbing me, I couldn't
see anything and it was hot.

5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?

Nope. I'll be busy packing before the movers get there the next morning.
