Resolution Updates
When
I made this
long list of resolutions, I wondered if I was being unrealistic. Some
days I think I was. Others I think everything is on track.
Host a dinner party. The Roommate and I had a potluck dinner on Valentine's Day for our single
friends. It was a nice, casual and relaxed evening and I think everyone
had a nice time.
I
forgot (again) what a pain planning parties were. It was still a lot
of fun though.
Do 30 minutes of cardio 3-4
days a week. This is an ongoing effort.
I have a calendar in my bathroom and I put a foil star on each day I go to the
gym. My attendance has been visibly irregular.
I think part of the problem is I am very routine
oriented and I haven't found a way to fit this into a routine. Things come
up and I can't go on days I plan and then it throws me out of whack.
Get rid of clutter. I would say this
is half accomplished. Most of my clutter is in a series of boxes stacked
on a book shelf in my room. I just need to sort through it all and throw
out what I don't need and find a home for what I do.
Cook more. I started cooking
more so I would have leftovers to take to work. We have a cafeteria at
work but it is horribly overpriced and really gross most of the time. I
really like simple throw-everything-in-a-pot-and-let-it-simmer type recipes so
I've been cooking a lot of soups.
Eat
more fruits and vegetables. Eat
less sugar. I am really,
really trying. Cooking myself and bringing my lunch to work helps, but
I
still think salad is disgusting and am trying to work out my residual
feelings about other vegetables. Baby steps.
Start therapy. Um...let's not
talk about this one yet.
