Movies You ♥
I've been browsing through my Netflix account and realize that I watch a hella lot of television shows and documentaries and rarely actual movies.
Plus the movies I have rented haven't been that great. Fantastic Four for example. Jessica Alba...plays a scientist...need I say more? And while, yes, Chris Evans is very nice to look at, unfortunately he speaks a lot during the movie and that more or less negates any positive attributes.
So I'm going to put my Netflix queue in the hands of the people. Please recommend a movie for me and tell me why you think I'd enjoy it.
Pretty please with extra butter-flavored topping on top?

I've been watching a lot of TCM lately, so some black-and-whites for you:
White Banners - Fay Bainter, Claude Raines, and an adorably young Jackie Cooper. Acting is incredible.
Ball of Fire - Gary Cooper, my God! This film inspired the 1953 Danny Kaye vehicle "A Song is Born." BoF is so much better.
Fight, Zatoichi, Fight! Just believe me, it rocks. Blind Samurai mows down ten evil ninjas with two sword strokes.
The Lion in Winter - ok, it's in color. I never appreciated it when I was a theatre student, but it was on last week and I was glued to the TV. The young Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton were particularly nice surprises.
And since we're into color, and speaking of Danny Kaye, if you haven't seen "The Court Jester," give it a whirl. One of my all-time faves, I never get sick of the damn thing. I drive all my friends crazy singing the songs.
