Tag! You're It!

It's been ages since I was tagged with a meme, however a rat bastard lovely fellow named Frank has done just that.

Here's how it goes. List ten random yet interesting facts about my life and tag ten other bloggers at the end of the post.

The random part sounds simple enough, however the interesting part is highly debatable. But here goes.

  • When I was younger, I had a few instances of what I guess I would call clairvoyant or psychic dreams. For example, one Friday during college, I was taking a nap and dreamt I was at a big party at my mother's church and there I saw a lady from my hometown who had cancer. In my dream she was wearing a wig made of white feathers. She was only in the dream for a couple seconds, but I remember thinking later it was odd to dream of her because I didn't really even know her nor ever saw her much. A few days later, while talking to my mother, she mentioned that woman died that same afternoon I dreamt of her. It's been many years since I've had any dreams like that. I sometimes miss them.
  • For two years, I worked an overnight job. During that time I became obsessed with soap operas. I watched five. (FIVE!) I read soap opera magazines. It knew everything there was to know about every single show. I knew the names of producers and writers. It was THAT bad. It really was a sickness. I've since gotten help.
  • When I was a child, I fantasized that The Captain and Tennille were my real parents. I'd daydream that one day they'd find me and I'd go on tour with them. I rationalized that if The Captain and Tennille gave my parents their dogs, then my parents wouldn't be sad that I left them.
  • In college, I took a class called Instrumentation. The final project for this class was something of legend about how difficult and time consuming it was. It was something all music students dreaded. I received an A on my final project with a note from the instructor saying he had never given an A on a final project before. Although I'm sure he's given A's since then, I'm still kind of proud to be the first.
  • Today, I had digital cable installed. I've never wanted cable, but the new roommate wants it, so I will bend. I remember when we got cable television when I was a kid - A MILLION YEARS AGO. We got Showtime. I think I must have seen Smokey and The Bandit a hundred times or more. I had the movie memorized.
  • I moved to Arizona sight unseen. I don't think I'd ever do that again.
  • I listened to two CDs during my trip to Arizona. Live's Throwing Copper and The Refreshment's Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy. Other than that I listened to my cat in the back seat freaking out and meowing non-stop despite being drugged up.
  • I've lived in Arizona for ten years and lately I've been giving casual thought to moving. I don't feel like my home is here. I'm not sure it's anywhere else, but I think I'd like to find out if it might be. (These failed a being interesting a few bullets ago.) I'm thinking I need to explore Northern California, Portland and Seattle sometime soon.
  • When I was a boy, I visited my maternal grandmother I rarely saw. After dinner at a restaurant, I ate a piece of carrot cake. She asked if I like it and I told her I did. From that point on, carrot cake was my favorite cake according to her. The few other times I saw her, she always made a carrot cake. I never had the heart to tell her it wasn't my favorite.
  • I don't have any memories of my life before age five. I'm not really sure why that is.

And the lucky tagged ones are: Homer, Patrick, Alden, Sandy, CB, Kyle, Wayne, Curtis and the lovely ladies, Geggie & Mzouiser.

Wow!

This may be just what I need to cure my writer's block.

I may not get to it until the weekend though...

Ok-seriously? I have to participate?? is this like one of those chain letter if-you-don't-bad-things-will-happen sort of things?

I may blog about 10 things... but I won't tag others...

ok, I'm just back from vacation and I'm sick as a dog. I'll get to it this week.
xoxo.
