Chihuly in the Desert

The Sun

Today, The Greg® and I soaked up plenty of vitamin D while enjoying the Chihuly installation at the Desert Botanical Gardens.

Photos are posted at Flickr or you can see them below.

Isn't this the artist who made all the chandeliers for the Mandarin Oriental Hotels back in 2003? I love this stuff, just gorgeous. The desert setting makes it look even more organic. What a cool exhibit!

gorgeous!

But is it art, Eddie?

Gorgeous. He's also got a huge 3-story sculpture in the lobby of the OKC museum of art. I got to see it a couple of weeks ago.

I'm told this is much better at night...I guess they use some really cool back lighting and lighting inside some of the glass to make it look funky.

Do you know when it leaves? I want to see it.

This is the same artist that did the ceiling in the lobby of the Bellagio in Vegas.
